Falsies without false lashes!

Everyone wants fuller, longer looking lashes! We are embracing a more natural fresh look for Spring 2016. Around the world we saw designers choose a soft cleaner makeup look that allowed brows and lashes to speak for themselves! Some of my favorite natural looks I loved on the #SS16 runway were Kenzo with Key Artist; Lynsey Alexander, Giorgio Armani with Key Artist; Linda Cantello, Marni with Key Artist; Tom Pecheux, Etro with Key Artist; Charlotte Tilbury, and Nicholas K with Key Artist; Sarah Lucero.  <<< Click to be directed to their Instagram.

Lashes open up the eyes. Most women, even those who do not wear a full face of make usually wear mascara.

Through the years working as a professional makeup artist one of my favorite makeup tricks I have picked up is applying mascara with a small fan brush. I purchased mine for a couple bucks at my local art and craft store. Morphe Brushes carry a few varieties from $1.72 – $4.99. <<< Click on “Morphe Brushes” to be directed to their website

Start by curling your clean lashes. Lift the lid, holding the curler in front, and gently press down, holding for five to ten seconds.

Grab your favorite mascara!

Simply sweep the fan brush along the bristles of your mascara wand in a crisscross motion. Brush the mascara throughout the fan brush, making sure the product is evenly distributed.

A fan brush deposits let’s product making the lashes appear fuller and longer without making them clumpy. Start at the base of your lashes gently wiggling the brush back and forth.

Want them to look longer? Sweep the brush throughout the length of the lashes to coat them.

You can also use your fan brush to comb your lashes into place, and get rid of any extra mascara that may have clumped.

How to Prep Your Skin for Flawless Makeup Application

WOW!!! 10 Seconds goes fast! 🙂

Let’s be honest… flawless skin begins with good nutrition. Fresh fruits and veggies packed with A, C, and E vitamins help prevent aging, enhance clarity, and protect against the environment. Eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables will help promote beautiful healthy skin. Foods like nuts, dairy, fish, and beans are rich with zinc; which help reduce inflammation and promote healing of the body.

Skin Care Basics: (Self-Test: Skin Analysis: Coming Soon! Stay Tuned!)
Determine your skin type-

*Normal – Needs a daily routine cleansing, and moisturizing with lightweight lotions/creams. Exfoliate once or twice a week.

*Dry – Use a cream cleanser, apply creams rich with nutrients. Use night cream with alpha hydroxy acids- helps remove dead skin cells while refreshing the new.

*Oily – A routine of cleansing twice a day will prevent keeping the pores open with dirt. Use an alcohol-free toner daily to reduce the oil. Use oil-free moisturizers

*Sensitive – Organic, non-perfumed, and hypoallergenic facial products work best.

*Combination – A daily regiment of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. Using a more intense moisturizer in the dry areas work best.

So… you have cleansed and toned. Now it is time to Prep the Skin for Flawless Makeup Application!

HYDRATE- Our skin is the largest organ of our body! Made up of water, protein, lipids, and different minerals and chemicals. Our skin contains 64% water. Hydrating the skin prepares for a more evenly distribution of products. You don’t need a fancy Evian Mineral Water Spray, I use it because it releases a small refreshing mist (rather then a blast from a water bottle) … and it’s super cute packaging 🙂

RESTORE- Ceramides are moisture-capturing lipids. Essentially, the mortar which keeps it strong and firm. As your skin loses the ability to create ceramides your skin loses its elasticity and structure. Which leads to fine lines and wrinkles. Elizabeth Arden has numerous hero products, one of my favorite is the Ceramide Capsules. They help replenish the skin, giving it a refreshed healthier appearance. I use it as a primer before the moisturizer and foundation.

MOISTURIZE- Are you catching the theme? HYDRATION is key to flawless skin. Moisturizing is truly the key to the fountain of youth. Moisturizers plump up the skin making it look bright. They also protect form environmental damage. I’m completely obsessed with Embryolisse Lait Creme, I haven’t used another moisturizer since I was introduced to it two years ago. This creamy lotion is three products in one: primer, moisturizer, and make-up remover. Its formula remains extremely simple and effective with nourishing ingredients that restores the skin’s natural glow and gives a boost to tired dehydrated skin.

If you stick to a regimen of proper skin care you will look flawless years to come, These steps not only ensure beautiful skin, but also preps the skin to absorb the makeup seamlessly, giving you a flawless makeup application.
